While fetching my little one, a boy’s playing his / his helper phone. It is a norm to see this scene these days. But take a second look, you can see the boy’s neck, how forward it becomes. He has no awareness in it while using the device, neither will his helper has any idea how it impacts his posture, spine and health in the very near future.

Forward neck is common due to excessive use of laptop, phone or any other device. While we are engrossed in our work , especially during peak period, we will be like the boy… As time goes by , back haunches, shoulder forward , back pain, stiffness at lower back etc ; ccupational hazard for office workers.

So what we can do about it ?

Intentionally be aware of how we sit is very crucial. We can set a timer or alarm clock on a hourly or 2 hourly basis, adjust our shoulder to the back, neck and head a bit more to the back , and do stretch a bit on the chair; as and when possible, go for a little walk (even to the toilet is good)

At the end of the day, do some simple stretching for the neck, shoulder and spine will be great ! Stay tune to this space for some videos on it !
